Cashing in on Cashew Gravy!

Hi Friends 🙂

Well, a couple of years ago my husband and I went to Canada on a trip. While there we had a chance to visit some friends of ours, and his wife happen to make biscuits and gravy for breakfast that morning for us. I had not really had biscuits in gravy in my house because I am not a “gravy Maker” if you know what I mean, lol.  Really, I am gravy challenged and I have always found it difficult to make my on. It’s always a hit or miss for me, you never know what you are going to get, unless I make it out of a package, which I hate doing because my mother never did, and my grandmother never did, so I have always felt like I have to get this thing together. When I would do it, it would either come out really floury, or really salty, and when it did have flavor, it was really only when I added meat juice. I have gotten away from that over the years, so when I was introduced to this gravy my friend made, it opened my eyes to a whole NEW world of GRAVY LOVE ❤

So, now that I have something to work with and have added some of my own ingredients to it, I have tried it with a lot of things like bake potatoes, which I made today for the kids and they loved it, or with bread rolls that I stuff with odd things, and bake in the oven…Mmmmmmm. But, this one I most love with BISCUITS and GRAVY! So, here it is YALL (in my Paula Dean Voice) and I hope you enjoy it as much as we do, and it’s more healthy for you too:

CASHEW GRAVY:

1 1/2 to 2 cups of Cashews

1/2 Onion (Small)

2 Cloves Garlic

Sea Salt to Taste

1/2 cup of yeast flakes

1 Tbls Tahina (Ground Sesame Seeds)

2 Tbls Brags Liquid Aminos (More if you feel it needs it)

Water (To cover the cashews in the blender – about 1 /1/2 Cups)

Mix this bad boy in the blender until it’s smooth and creamy and taste it to add more flavorings of salt, or brags if it needs it.

I also like to add some chunks of meat to it like (Veggie dogs cut up and sauteed and added after the mix has been in the blender) or perhaps you may want to add some griller meat chopped up or whatever you want to add, it just works!

I no longer consider myself GRAVY CHALLENGE, but rather a GRAVY DIVA of sorts, LOL.

Hugs Everyone and REMEMBER…… U R LOVED!
